SFWA (Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America) made an announcement a couple days ago (http://www.sfwa.org/2016/07/sfwa-admit-game-writers-starting-august-1st-...) that they were going to start welcoming game writers into their organization, an announcement many game writers looked forward to immensely. However, as with any big announcement, it was greeted on social media by a plethora of questions and discussion. The Gen Con Writer's Symposium is happy to announce that we will be hosting a town hall style meeting where Cat Rambo, president of SFWA, along with other members, writers, gamers, and people of the community, will be discussing the new guidelines. They will take questions, listen to feedback, and get a feeling for what the community wants. This is your chance to be heard. If there is something you disagree with as far as the guidelines go, let SFWA know--especially if you have ideas on how to make it better. And likewise, if there is something you think works well, let them know that, too! Your discussion will help shape the guidelines. SFWA is a community of writers for writers. They want to get this right. And by sharing your thoughts on this, you can help them do just that.
