If you are a science fiction or fantasy fan, chances are you've seen the name "Worldbuilders" floating around from time to time. Worldbuilders is a charity organization created by bestselling author Patrick Rothfuss that gets readers, authors, artists, and more involved to help make the world a better place. Every year Worldbuilders has auctions featuring items like signed books and art prints, one of a kind items, and rare collectibles. In the past they have featured a signed first edition ARC of Neil Gaiman's Stardust, writing critiques from bestselling authors, and unique jewelry inspired by favorite works in the genre. They also have the Tinker's Packs site, where people can buy items all year. The best part? All the proceeds go to Heifer International, an organization that provides livestock, wells, and other life saving and improving things to help end hunger and poverty in the world.
This year, Worldbuilders is one of the sponsors of the Writer's Symposium at Gen Con, and we couldn't be more proud to help make people more aware of this amazing organization. The work that Patrick Rothfuss and his team put into their charity every year is both amazing and humbling. It's a wonderful thing to see authors, readers, artists, and fans all come together to help make the world a better place, and we hope you check out their website at www.worldbuilders.org and consider making a donation. Every little bit helps. They will also be at Gen Con at booth #267, so stop by if you will be at the con and say hi! Their staff is very friendly and they would love to answer any questions you have.
Thank you, Worldbuilders!
