Sunday June 20th Is Last Day to Pre-Register for Badges and Events

Heads up! This Sunday, June 20th, is the last day to pre-register for badges and events at Gen Con and the Writer's Symposium. If you register for tickets now, they can be mailed to you. If you register after Sunday, you will have to pick up your tickets and badges at the Will Call Center during the convention (which in some cases means a very long line). NOTE: You can still register for events and badges all the way up until the day of the event--this is ONLY if you want your tickets mailed to you before Gen Con.

Storium Returns in 2016: Telling Stories Via an Online Game!

Storium (, for those of you who don’t know, is a multi-player online game designed to help people unleash their imaginations and share the awesome stories that are within them. It gives players the tools to create characters and allows them to make fun and unpredictable stories for them to take part in. And in case players aren’t feeling that creative, Storium has a growing library of story ideas and worlds to help them get started, no matter how much their imagination needs stretching.

Author Readings Are BACK!

For years, the Gen Con Writer’s Symposium has welcomed attendees to hear their favorite speculative fiction authors read from their newest releases. Now, after a brief hiatus, the readings are back!

This year, Gen Con attendees can hear authors like Peter Tieryas, Gail Z. Martin, Scott Lynch, Steve Bein, Carrie Patel, Gregory A. Wilson, Ada Palmer, Jo Walton, and many more read from their latest works.

Epic Programming For This Year's Writer's Symposium!

One critique we often hear about other writers’ conventions is that the panels are geared toward beginners and that the programming offers little for experienced authors. The Gen Con Writer’s Symposium takes great pride in providing valuable programming for authors at ALL points in their careers, from beginners trying to figure out how to get words on the page, to bestselling authors who are trying to figure out the next steps to their careers.
